Pure Bloggers.com?

I've never heard of this site before.

I received an invitation via e-mail. I think I'll let this one slide. I'm not that desperate to find more readers or anything. If there's more readers, I welcome you warm-kindheartedly to this pedestrian, sometimes mundane blog. So far, up to this point, I'm grateful with everything I have.

  1. I received an invitation, too, stating that I was recommended or invitated by some blogger but not mentioning who that was...
    won't sign up either ;-)

  2. Yeah... I got an invite too for my blog on Japan... today...
I was looking for more info on who the hell they are, but I guess it must have been a blanket spam e-mail.
    Cheers

  3. I wondered about this, too. Phishing maybe? Since I don't know anyone who reads my blog--I rarely post and should more often--I'm with you all and I don't even know you. ckb

  4. Me too. Decided I would google it before blindly clicking the link. Funny, there wasn't such a site from a google search, but I found your blog. I think I'll sit that one out as well! Cheers!

  5. Sounds like many of us got the invite. I found you all trying to find out more about purebloggers as well.

  6. Sou do Brasil e também recebi o convite da pure bloggers, mas não costumo aceitar o convite sem antes saber um pouco mais a respeito de quem me convida. Como ainda não sei nada sobre eles, irei esperar mais um pouco para aceitar o convite.

  7. I am from Pakistan and got the same invite! hah. that's so funny, a site doesn't exist and asking you to join! glad I found your post about it.

  8. Thanks for these posts.Has stopped me from clicking on the link. So much spam these days! I'm from Kent, UK. It's clearly global!

  11. Got an invite as well...thought it looked suspicious (especially since the e-mail address is has an extra "s" at the end of "bloggers," which is odd). Think I'm giving this one a pass too.

  12. I got an invitation as well and I thought it looked slightly dodgy, as it didn't say who invited me and all the info was really basic, so I didn't sign up.

  13. Hmmm...I received an invitation too and found this site when I googled...Definitely global; I'm in Australia :-)

  16. I also got an invite today [UK], but found a site for pureblogging on google, not purebloggers so it does look dodgy.

  17. Ah dang, and I thought I was special.

  18. Yep we are here in Central Indiana and got the same e-mail. As a person who is rather cautious by nature I decided to pass until I did some research. The results... I'm not signing up!

  19. I got the invitation and decided to google it before clicking the link, too. As Vonda said, there wasn't such a site from a google search, and I also found your blog. You got a new reader !!

  20. Add one more. Scared me when the invite said "someone". I will leave it for awhile in the inbox.

  21. I received the same email. Im in Utah and am glad I googled it before clicking on the link.

  22. Yep me also for my Glasgow Album! Found you by googling. Not at all sure about it either, have been getting some odd comments at the blog lately. Had one the other day from someone called 'Jesus' - who I assume is a bot - with a link a few spaces down to a property site. So am already suspicious - I suppose it's all connected.

    Many thanks for posting this.

  24. I'm with Vonda on this one. I did a search, no site, but found your post. This must be happening a lot recently since I received another anonymous invite to a gothic inspired site. It did turn out to be real, but I'm still wary because of the way it was done - very similar to this one. Ah well, it's a good thing we all found a place to talk about this! :)

  25. You can add me to the list too. I would love to have more traffic to my blog, but couldn't find any information on the site about what it was before filling out some specific information, including full name and birth date. The was the stopper for me. I'm in Utah, USA.

  26. Hi, I got the same invite on the 17th Feb. Just spam I reckon!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I too have received this email. I agree it's most likely spam.

    ReplyDelete
  28. i agree with you!
    but the networking sounds interesting!
    *LOL*

i found about this purebloggers through the stats... ha-ha

    ReplyDelete
  29. Me too. I'm noting that to join you give your google/facebook account and password. Sounds fishy.

  30. Agreeing with everyone else. I got the email and thought it looked pretty shady. Thanks, but no thanks.

In North Carolina, USA, here. :) Found you buy searching for them.

  31. I got this too. I write for a number of prestigious publications so was kind of honoured but it looked too dodgy. Got this via twitter too. I deleted it.

  32. I found this post by googling pure bloggers, but I was just wondering what this site is that keeps linking to my blog. I haven't seen any email and I haven't joined, but am curious as to why I keep getting people linking to my blog from it. Perhaps it is a different route to getting people to join besides their email. I'm still not going to join. Thanks for the post.

  33. I have not got an email invite (well unless it was an email that I did not open.) I have not signed up but I found the site through my blog stats on blogger. According to my stats I am getting a bunch of visitors from pureblogger.com/? and then my site after the ?. It has my .blogspot domain, I just recently changed to my own domain. I have not heard of this site but somehow it is listed with my blog url after it!! I thought maybe it was a site that people can submit blogs they like to. I have been noticing a lot of weird sites that are coming up under my stats lately.

  34. count me in too...got the invite...googled for more info...landed here...I suspected it was spam when they wanted my birth date in signing up...glad we are being vigiliant and helping each other rather than letting the spammers win!

  35. I got an invite on my facebook (Canada) from supposedly an american acquaintance, a fellow blogger. She may have more interests as her blog is semi commercial: she's a writer. My blog is personal and not aimed at the same market at all. Not looking for more "friends", just genuine people who enjoy what I do. I did find a page listing blogs from PureBloggers, but they're all conservative. I'm a socialist!! Their direct opposite. I'll stay away from that one... Not for me, thank you very much!!

  36. Wow, so glad I was able to find this blog post about the mysterious purebloggers invite since I really wasn't able to find anything else when I googled. Have enjoyed reading the comments here. I'm not planning on signing on, either.

  37. Iowa USA... I did not get an email, but did see that this pureblogger had been directing traffic to my blog (via blogger stats). Thought it was weird. Glad I checked it out...and VERY glad you posted this info. :)

  38. I'm from Denmark and got invited as well... Yet i received my via Formspring...

Not signing up now! Thank you for the post!

  39. Hey I found your page via Search also.

if you need more infos about the site.

Its for sure not a phising site. Seems they made a big promo, which is okay for me. At the end i get more readers ;)

  42. I have signed up with a dummy account. My first few hours and impressions can be found here --> http://hschacko.blogspot.com/2012/03/who-are-you.html

I'm not sure about the phishing part... I suppose I'll see. But I don't think it's quite how it presents itself. Yes, it is a social network. Yes, most people are bloggers. However, so far as I can see this far, the blogs are like myspace blogs - you blog on the site, not on your own blog. In other people's profiles, the blog tab has posts made on the site... the links to their own blogs are hidden away right at the bottom of the info tab.

I've spoken to a couple of people on it, and they feel it's a waste of time, but don't -think- it's phishing. We shall see...

  43. Got my invite today.

I don't know what the bloody hell that website is for.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Now, we all can create the group called :"we've been invited too"
    :)
My invitation was in junk. I ignore such invitations, it's always about putting adverts on blog; My blog is like my home - I won't let strangers get in.

    ReplyDelete
  45. First I saw purebloggers in stats and ignore it. But when I find invitation in spam try to google it. Cose if google send information about blog to spam it can be something diffrent. Lucky I found your post and all coments so I can still trust gmail filtr.

  46. I didn't recieve the invite, but I saw the site in my traffic info, and later someone on formspring asked me to join. I didn't, because at the moment the site doesn't really look reliable or professional enough. But I checked out their forum and there are already quite many people there!

  47. I discovered your web site via Google while looking for a related subject, lucky for me your web site came up, its a great website. I have bookmarked it in my Google bookmarks. You really are a phenomenal person with a brilliant mind!
